| Our History | ||||||
| Knürr is one of the leading developers, producers and distributors of system components for electronics and technical furniture world-wide. The knight in the Knürr logo symbolises our commitment as a supplier to high-tech industries world-wide. The Knürr group comprises Knürr with its German sales organization, six German-based manufacturing companies based in Germany whose products make up our "Enclosures for Electronics" business area, and ten other companies world-wide whose activities by and large are centered around the distribution of our products. |
Knürr was founded in 1931 by Hans Knürr sen. as a craft workshop. During the 1960s the company started developing, manufacturing and selling sheet-steel enclosures for the electronics industry. The company developed a philosophical link between the suit of armor shielding "knights of old" and sheet-steel enclosures protecting electronics. This was then transformed into the long-established slogan: "Sheet-steel enclosures protect valuable creations." In today's modern world, Knürr is manufacturing enclosures on an industrial scale but the knight's helmet in the Knürr logo symbolises much more |
than just a company emblem as a means of recognition. The helmet is a symbol of the purpose of our products: functional and ergonomic protection for valuable commodities. And the knight's chivalry stands for fair dealings with our customers and employees. Ever since 1931, when Knürr was founded, we have always directed our efforts towards meeting the requirements of our customers. We specialize in developing innovative products that provide customers with new solutions to give them the edge over the competition. Knürr knows that successful customers are the only foundations for progress and achievement. |
