Knürr PowerTrans® Now with Measurement System for Monitoring Energy
|
 |
 |
Arnstorf – Knürr, one of the leading specialists for energy-efficient technology in data centers, now offers a new energy measurement system for its PowerTrans® power distribution rack. This slot-in solution will replace both the previous analog volt and ampere meter, and measuring devices for power outputs and power factor cos φ.
With the PowerTrans® Rack introduced last year, Knürr provided the interface between the low voltage feed and the “Power Distribution Unit (PDU)” of the DI-STRIP family, as well as other components for supplying servers and further IT devices.
The most impressive plus point of the Knürr PowerTrans® is the fact that a power distribution system no longer has to be permanently installed in the building – individual slot-ins can now be plugged in and flexibly controlled. This new measurement slot-in unit allows the system administrator to easily and conveniently read the consumption values and voltage at the early main distributor stage on an easy-to-read monitor. Six fields show the default measured variables and can be individually defined. The green, eye-friendly 7-segment display for the measured variables and the orange-colored dimensions display make reading so much easier – even from a good distance.
The measurement module can also be integrated into the network to display and document the data on a PC (MS Excel) or on the Internet.
Knürr PowerTrans® Plus Points
The Knürr PowerTrans® also allows the system administrator to integrate up to eight slot-in units. Each slot-in is supplied by two separate 3-phase feeds (A and B feed = redundancy). With max. 250 A/phase, loads of up to 329 kVA can be supplied from just one single Knürr PowerTrans®.
The outputs on the slot-ins are flexibly equipped as requested by the customer with a wide range of features, via various CEE and GST 18 type plug-in connections (e.g. BladePower® or PizzaPower®, DI-STRIP TriplePower®, as well as flexible distribution with the GST18i5 distributor block, 3-phase).
An electrician first provides the main feed for the Knürr PowerTrans®. The individual slot-in units and the PDUs can then be effortlessly connected per Plug & Play installation. Even later extensions are performed without any interruptions, and therefore cost-effectively.
