Flexible power distribution increases capacity in the server rack
Arnstorf [July 1, 2008] – With PowerTrans Knürr AG now presents a professional IT solution for efficient power supply to individual server racks. The central connection unit serves as the interface between the low voltage feed and the power distribution units (PDU) of various components for feeding servers and other IT devices. The advantage of this innovative solution is that the power distribution takes place in the individual plug-in units, and therefore must no longer be installed fixed in the building. Up to 8 plug-in units, which are redundantly configured with an A and B feed and fitted with three-phase 400 V power lines, can be integrated into the PowerTrans Rack. With max. 250 A/phase, loads of up to 329 kVA can therefore be supplied from just one single rack. Depending on the individual customer requirements, the outputs on the plug-in units are flexibly set up with various configurations. Different types of CEE and GST 18 plug-in connectors are used for this. Via Plug&Play installation the individual plug-in units and the PDUs can be connected operator-friendly and enable straightforward, uninterrupted and fast extensions. Only the main feed of the PowerTrans has to be set up by an electrician. Thanks to a redundant and modular system setup, Knürr’s professional power management provides the highest possible level of reliability and availability. |
