| 7. What requirements does the system have? |
A terminal and a terminal program are required for configuring RMS Compact, and connection to a Network Management Station (NMS) or the supplied viewer/programmer software are required for operation. Following is a description of all required components and a list of the most used Network Management Stations:
• The components of your RMS Compact standard package
• Connection to a 10baseT Ethernet network
• An SNMP-based management station
• For configuring the RMS Compact SNMP agents: A dumb terminal or a PC with an emulation programme that runs with 9600 baud, e.g. Windows 95/98/NT HyperTerminal or the supplied TerraTerm software
• An RS232 communication port on your PC or terminal
• Network identification values for the RMS Compact:
IP address
Network mask
NMS IP address
Community definitions
Gateway/router IP address on the same segment as the RMS Compact. |
