UPS Systems – Uninterruptible Power Supplies

1. What power levels are there (difference between kVA and kW)?
Power levels from von 700VA to 10kVA in the 19” range. E.g., GXT2-1000RT230, BN 060990311: 1000VA, 700W (cos ρ 0,7)

2. What connection options (Schuko, IEC, fixed installation, etc.)?
E.g. GXT2-3KRT230E, 060990111: 4x IEC C13 (10A-Euro-output-)
1x IEC C19 (16A-Euro-output)
Extensive distribution options via connectable UPS socket strips.

3. How does the system have to be protected? (Is 16A standard fuse per phase enough?)
E.g.: GXT2-3KRT230E, 060990111: Can still be connected to 16A system, 3000VA / 230V = 13,04 A

4. What dissipated heat is generated and what is the operating temperature range?
E.g.: GXT2-3KRT230E, 06099011:1 Relative humidity - 20-90% without condensation.
Temperature - 0-40°C, preferably 20°C because of battery pack in the UPS.
Dissipated heat is generated according to the technology (LI or online) and according to power class.

5. What standards does the UPS system comply with?
Depends on power and type, e.g. CE, TÜV-GS, EN 50091-1-1, highest UPS protection class IEC62040-3 VFI-SS-111

6. Can the UPS be expanded? (With regard to backup time extension)
Depending on the power and type, the backup time can be extended to several hours using external battery modules.

7. How can the device be mounted? Is the necessary material included in the supply schedule?
All accessory parts required for installation are included in the supply schedule.

8. Is a guarantee extension possible? If yes, by how much?
Guarantee extension from 24 to 36 months is possible.

9. What is the difference between “Line interactive” and “Online”?
Line interactive:
The system “monitors” the sinus signal of the mains cable and supports as required with fader (reduction) or booster (increase) -> PowerSure PSI VI-SS-313
Online:
Network voltage is continuously converted to direct voltage and a continuous sinus wave is again generated from this (no switchover times, Double conversion technology) -> GXT2  VFI-SS-111
Detailed explanations are provided in the IT Special Catalogue, Chapter 8

10. What options are there for integrating the UPS systems into network systems?
- Serial via RS232 interface
- USB interface
- Via Web / SNMP card
- Agent/client relationship

11. How are complaints dealt with?
An in-depth service concept is implemented for this purpose.

12. What is "hot swap"?
Batteries can be exchanged during system operation, without having to switch off users.

13. What do agent-client relationships mean with regard to UPSs?
Agent-Client
There are 3 options for communicating with a UPS system:
1.) SNMP card as accessory
2.) RS232 / USB interface
3.) Agent/client relationship
The UPS system is connected here to the PC via a serial interface (RS232). The PC’s network card is used to integrate the UPS system into the network (agent). The client software ensures shutdown on the computer.

14. What operating systems are supported?
The remote control software included in the supply schedule is compatible with all established operating systems (e.g. Windows, Mac OS, Linux, Netware, SUN Solaris, Unix, etc.)
