Since its founding in 1931, Knürr has evolved into a globally recognized specialist for control room solutions – shaped by constant change, visionary milestones, and technological achievements.

The Beginnings

1931

Founded by Hans Knürr. In the years that followed, the first product lines were developed – including racks, enclosures, and equipment carts.

Milestone
in control room expertise

1982

Launch of the first control console product line – Dacobas.

Knürr in
the Corporate Universe

2000-2016

Knürr becomes highly sought-after and is first acquired by the 3i Group. In 2006, Knürr becomes part of EMERSON before being integrated into the VERTIV Group in 2016.

VERTIV IPO

2020

The VERTIV Group, to which Knürr belongs, goes public on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

Expansion
of Competence Center

2021

The control room solutions business unit is expanded to include dedicated functions for production, warehousing, procurement, shipping, quality, human resources, and finance.

A New Era

2024

Following a management buy-out, Knürr returns to the market under its original brand name – with a clear identity, independent positioning, and a new visual appearance.
